The person selected for any position must be professionally prepared as a teacher of young children, and be able to meet and maintain the requirements of the licensing agency. This person must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults. This person also must have a warm and friendly personality, sensitive to the feelings and needs of others and be willing to fulfill the responsibilities in accordance with the school's education philosophy. 

-  High Diploma 

-  40 hours Introductory Child Care Training 

-  5 hours Early Literacy

-  Current FCCPC /CDA

-  AA/AS Degree (minimum for Private School Assistant)

-  willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law regulations

Participating in recommended training programs, conferences, courses and other aspects of professional growth. Planning and implementing methods of establishing a positive liaison with parents of the students. 

Conducting parent/teacher conferences on children's school adjustment and classroom behavior.

Assist in the ongoing evalutaion procedures needed to assess the developmental levels of the children. Gearing the program to the needs of individual children with concerns fro their interest, handicaps, and special talents.  

Assisting in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the teacher. Assisting in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies. Attending all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences. Participating in professional organizations that work for the improvement of early childhood education.

Assisting as needed under the direction of the professional staff. Maintaining professional attitudes at the school at all times. Allowing professional staff to deal with problem situations. Supporting the philosophy of the school. Treating all children with dignity and respect. If volunteering a skill or talent, presenting a written plan to the professional staff. Upon approval, implementing that plan.
